National Physician Assistant (PA) Week

October 2025

Cape Radiology Group would like to recognize the contributions of PAs to the field of healthcare. Each year the week of October 6th – October 12th is a time to bring awareness to the vital role they play in patient care and the importance of their occupation. National PA Day, October 6th, starts off the week and is in honor of the birthday of Dr. Eugene Stead who is credited as the founder of the PA profession. We are fortunate to have two PAs working in the interventional radiology specialty portion of our practice. We know their contributions elevate the services we provide and their commitment to excellence makes an impact each day.

Shining Star Award Winner

September 11^th, 2025

Congratulations to Dr. Erick Butt who was recently honored with a Shining Star Award. The award was granted by Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) for making a positive impact by providing exceptional care for patients. We are grateful for him being a part of our group as well as a shining example of provider excellence at one of our partner organizations. Thanks Dr. Butt for all you do!

July 14^th, 2025

Cape Radiology Group is pleased to introduce Thomas J. Crocetti, D.O., who joined our practice on July 14^th, 2025. Dr. Crocetti earned his Medical Degree at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Kirksville, MO. He completed his Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX.

Born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Dr. Crocetti is excited to be back in his hometown and practicing radiology in this community. Watching football and baseball in addition to barbecuing are a few ways he enjoys spending his time. One of his favorite quotes is from Marcus Aurelius, “The obstacle is the way”. He and his wife, Alicia, are currently expecting their first child.

Meet Dr. Lilian Ebuoma, Breast Radiologist

July 2025

Dr. Lilian Ebuoma joined Cape Radiology Group in 2021. She is a Harvard-trained breast radiologist, certified physician executive, social entrepreneur, U.S Navy Veteran, and certified professional coach with more than two decades of experience in the health and wellness industry, including in the United States Navy.

She is a Fellow of the Institute of Coaching at McLean, Harvard Medical School Affiliate, and a 2027 Fellow of the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Ebuoma is the founder of Lilly Women’s Health and Lilly Cares Foundation (LCF) in Lagos, Nigeria with a primary focus of streamlining breast care to improve breast cancer morbidity and mortality outcomes in underserved areas. Their mission is to save lives and empower women by ensuring that every woman has access to the care and support she needs.

The recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Early Faculty Excellence Award from the Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Ebuoma was named top 50 most influential women in Nigeria by Business Day in 2023.

She is driven by a deep desire to empower women in their breast health journey helping demystify the process of receiving regular breast care and access to information. Going beyond the clinical work and focusing on opportunistic education resonates with Dr. Ebuoma because of her efforts to positively impact global health and providing access to care for women in rural areas.

We are fortunate to have Dr. Ebuoma as a member of our group putting her experience and knowledge into practice here in Southeast Missouri where she lives with her husband and children. Last year she authored a book titled “Love Your Breasts, Love Yourself: A Comprehensive and Holistic Approach to Breast Care Inside and Out” and was recently featured on an episode of The Radiology Report podcast!

CRG Annual Employee Appreciation Night

June 28, 2025

On June 28^th, Cape Radiology Group hosted its 3rd Annual Employee Appreciation Night at the Cape Catfish game! They didn’t bring home a win, but it was a hard-fought battle and our employees, and their families had a fantastic time. The Cape Catfish are members of the Prospect League and Cape Girardeau is lucky to have a family-friendly and competitive baseball team right here in our hometown. Captain Catfish is always a hit and a fan favorite!

Meet Our New Diagnostic Radiologist

We are pleased to announce that Frederick (Erick) Butt, M.D., joined Cape Radiology Group on July 1st, 2024. Dr. Butt earned his Medical Degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. He completed his Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis, Missouri.

Born and raised in Central Illinois, he is pleased to live and practice radiology in Southern Illinois. He and his wife, Prezley, currently have one son.

Our New MRI is Here

Cape Radiology Group (CRG) has installed a new 1.5Tesla Siemens Altea MRI at our 70 Doctors' Park, Cape Girardeau location. The magnet has a 70cm open bore and multi-channel coils with the capability to produce high resolution imaging. CRG is proud to announce we are the first facility in the region to utilize AI-powered image reconstruction software called Deep Resolve to advance care delivery. The state-of-the-art system encompasses several features that will produce sharper images and provide quicker scanning times improving patient comfort for those who are in significant pain or claustrophobic.

The MRI suite is operated by registered MRI technologists recognized by the ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). Simsouda Mahathath, Operations Manager, and Jason Morris, Facility & Equipment Manager, headed up the installation project which included a room makeover to increase the patient experience.

The imaging facility can often accommodate same day referrals depending on insurance requirements and has evening availability throughout the week for MRI appointments.

National Nurses Week

Florence Nightingale, born in 1820 and considered the founder of modern nursing, established the first secular nursing school in 1860. The American Nurses Association celebrated National Nurses Week 2024 May 6th-May 12th. This year's theme "Nurses Make the Difference" honors them during this week and throughout the month of May. Join us in taking a moment to say thank you to all the nurses that play a vital role in many different settings, especially in our field of healthcare. They show care and compassion making contributions worldwide to the field of nursing. Cape Radiology Group would like to acknowledge the extraordinary nurses who are a part of our organization.

Cape Radiology Group - Jackson Location Closes.

For business reasons, Cape Radiology Group decided to close its imaging center located in Jackson, Missouri. Monday, September 25^th was the last day we were open. Patient health records are confidential and will be maintained under the care of our main office located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Requests for medical records can be directed to 800/583-5674 or 573/334-6071, option 5.

Thank you for trusting our office with your imaging needs. It has been a pleasure to provide care in the Jackson area for the last 13 years.

We look forward to continuing to serve patients in our Cape Girardeau office!
