AMERICAN COLLEGE OF RADIOLOGY (ACR) ACCREDITATION
Cape Radiology Group has been awarded accreditation in the areas of CT, MRI, mammography, and ultrasound. The American College of Radiology (ACR) awards accreditation for the achievement of high practice standards. This voluntary evaluation assess the qualifications of personnel, policies and procedures, equipment specifications, quality assurance (QA) activities, patient safety, image quality, and ultimately the quality of patient care. Evaluations are conducted by radiologists and physicists who are members of the ACR with special expertise. They assess the quality of the work being performed as well as the qualifications of the personnel involved. The reviewers report their findings to the ACR’s Accreditation Committee, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.
The American College of Radiology is a national organization servicing more than 30,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists and medical physicists, with programs focusing on the practice of radiology and the delivery of comprehensive health services. The ACR is organized around the following five pillars: advocacy, clinical research, economics, education, quality & safety. Cape Radiology Group is privileged to be a part of the 35,000 plus facilities with modalities accredited by the ACR.
