X-Ray

X-Ray

X-rays are images of the body created by using high-energy radiation in low doses. They are used to help diagnose diseases and determine the extent of injuries. Several different x-ray views may be needed and how you are positioned depends on what type of x-ray is being performed. If you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant it is important to mention that prior to the exam. You may be asked to remove all jewelry as metal can interfere with an x-ray and cause unclear images. X-rays are painless and usually can be completed in less than 15 minutes. There are no exam preparations necessary for an x-ray and they can be performed on a walk-in basis.
